Bushed!!

Phew! Finally it's coming to the end of the school holidays! Although Favian isn't really a bother and quite independent, but it's tiring when a kiddo is at home 24/7.
Luckily Mischa's childcare routine is not affected even during the school holidays otherwise i would have gone mad.

Thank goodness Favian is recovering well from his surgery and so far everything seems fine. Tomorrow will be his follow-up checkup.Hope to hear good reviews from the doc.

The helper has been good so far. though a little slow and with less intiative compared to my previous one, I think she will be able to catch up pretty fast.
As far as co-sleeping goes, Mischa has been good too, sleeping with Favian and the helper. So far so good and we fnally can have the entire King size bed all to ourselves! I realised I sleep better at night too as no one is kicking me all over the place at night!

Let's hope things get better....

Bye bye tooth gap

Tomorrow at 10am will be the scheduled tooth surgery for Favian. Hiaz, my poor boy has 2 extra teeth that are causing a big gap between his central incisors. And to add to this weird occurence, the 2 teeth are inverted! The only way is to remove them so that the gap between the incisors will close up..hopefully by themselves, otherwise he will need to have some sort of braces to pull the teeth together - that's another procedure after this trauma.

Favian will be under GA and recovery will probably take some time. I feel the heartache for him 'cos Favian's threshold of pain is almost non-existent. Thankfully the new helper will be coming these 2 days, at least she will be able to attend to the other nitty-gritty stuffs while I concentrate looking after Favian giving him the comfort. hubby and I hope that this minor surgery will be over soon and  Favian will have a nicer smile in years to come.

Mummy & Son

Yesterday I brought Mischa for the replacement class at Seimpi and was totally appalled by a behaviour of a boy who was hyperactive and utterly rude.
He belongs to the Sunday class wherea Mischa's in the Sat class. So that was the 1st time I have seen him and the rest of his classmates.

This boy was barely 3yr old and he went around hitting his classmates and their mothers - yours truly included! Mischa and I had our fair share of abuse froom him too!
I was mad, not totally at him though. I was just disappointed that his mother DID NOT do anything to stop him. She simply called out his name after each hitting attempt and pull him back gently. Sometimes without even a simple 'sorry' from her.
He pounded on my back then went towards another mother next. He screamed and shouted at teacher Fiona when she collected the music instruments back from him.

Many a times poor teacher Fiona had to stop him and raised her voice at him while his mother looked on with a blackened face.
The last straw came when he attempted to hit Mischa but missed! Thank goodness! But my girl was petrified! So teacher Fiona shouted at him to leave the class. His mother kind of got the hint , got up , picked up her bag and pulled her son out of the class.
It was then peace on earth for the rest of us :)
According to teacher Fiona, he had been behaving like this since he joined in October last year and his mother simply just sat there without feeling a wee bit embarassed by her ill discipline.
I guess the boy is just not ready for such classes and the mother really ought to do something about it.

                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Today I had a little chat with Favian. He managed to finish his lunch pretty fast today, otherwise we will usually be rushing for him to finish lunch, pack his bag, shower and send him off to the school bus. So it was a really good chat.
We cuddled in bed and we chatted abit about his school and friends. I just wanted him to know that I still do care for him though I am sometimes harsh and strict with him.
I told him that he is still my no.1 baby even though I spend more time with Mischa and usually leave the teaching (schoolwork) to hubby.
He told me there is a boy who bullies him in class. And I told him how to protect himself from now on.
Favian has really grown up so much. Time flies and I still can remember those days when he was a baby.
I think its always good to spend some time with the kids and really have a chat to know more about what they have been thinking. I have not really tried doing this with Mischa, let's see how it will turn out :P
Mischa's last day @ Talent Plus
Today we celebrated the last day of the year end term at Talent Plus. It was also the last day for Mischa at Talent Plus. She will start her new experience at Carpe Diem come December. Sad to say goodbye to Teacher Lee and friends at Talent Plus, but I am so looking forward for Mischa to start her routine at the childcare centre so that I can have more time on hand for my own stuff and set a proper routine for her as well. She has been pretty independent so far, thus I am not too worried.
I bought a cake for the teachers and joined in the party with Favian and hubby along.
Mischa still fresh and happy when we arrived at the classroom
Sing-a-long session
Her fav beau by her side - Joven. Teacher Lee mentioned several times that this pair of little love birds enjoys each other's company so much that they will always play and sit close to each other and that Mischa only smiles/ laugh when she sees Joven. Awww.....
Mischa laughing at Joven's antics....only he can make her smile in class
Get up and move that body before snacktime
Having fun during song & dance segment
Mischa smiling away enjoying the song and dance move
Getting cranky after a while....
Suddenly she refused to participate in the dance and just stood at the side watching the other children dancing along to the music
Snack time - everyone contributed some food for this day
Favian joining in the fun
A shot with Teacher Lee for memory's sake... (Favian was taught by her as well...)
And some last shots with her 'Prince charming' - Joven. Mischa's gonna miss him...
Mischa: "Bye bye Talent Plus! I enjoyed my short stay here and I will never forget all my friends (esp. Joven). till we meet again. And Hello to my new school come December!"
Japan Day 3 - Tokyo
today we set off to Tokyo in the morning. We took the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo and transferred to Shinjuku Station where our hotel is. (It was expensive to travel in a Shinkansen. But it saved us the hastle of taking a domestic flight to Tokyo)
This bento we bought during the train ride was simple, nice BUT expensive! the colourful vegetables and pickles just cheer me up!
Children 5yrs and under rides for free and we declared Favian as 5 yrs old! hahaha saved at least S$100!
We finally arrived at our hotel and it was already 3pm! This was our hotel room in KEIO Plaza hotel. We were on the 30th floor and the view was great! right in front of our windows was the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building. Take a pic before we mess up the room!
After washing up we proceeded to Takashimaya times square which is a few min walk from our hotel. Tonight we celebrated Favian's 6th birthday too. It was drizzling and cold outside and we caught abit of the rain. Slurping down a bowl of hot udon was a simple indulgence.
all of us enjoying our udon and soba.
Birthday boy and his birthday meal
since it was pretty late we only shopped briefly at Tokyu hands (just next to Taka) and packed some supper before we head back to our hotel for some rest. I also bought a slice of cake to celebrate Favian's birthday. Since there were only so few of us, we doubt we can finish off a whole cake.
Favian wasn't very keen in his birthday cake, but Mischa was practically eyeing it the whole time while we tried to snap pictures of them. She was asked to keep her hands behind her..hahaha
Favian trying out some of his cake
Mischa: "finally I can savour the cake!"
Lousy Week
Fever 38.9 deg. Cough. Sore throat. Blocked nose. Refused to see a Dr.
what a lousy sickly week for me. After tons of ups and downs, a hearty meal of fish head otak. Sigh....no appetite for 5 days. slept for 5 days.
Then Favian caught my virus. His turn. Fever hit 39 deg. Went to GP, then KKH. Absent from school for a week.
After that I boasted about Mischa being the stronger one cos' she's still on my BM. Yicks! Rotten mouth. She was next. And poor baby still coughly as bad as ME...cos' Dr. refused to precribe her with any antibiotics....tsk tsk tsk....what a rotten week for me. Kiddos lost a great deal of weight BUT not me :(
NOW what I really need is a good holiday....hehehehe.....plans are up....hopefully the trip can be confirmed in a few weeks. *SMILE
Best present of the year!
Hubby n I were elated that Favian got a place in Nan Chiau Primary school! We were really blessed and lucky at the same time - cos i wasn't a volunteer parent and had to join all 190 applicants in the balloting scheme under Phase 2C 'vying' for a pathetic 73 openings...and thats less than 50% chance per applicant.
I reminded myself to witness the ballot at 9am this morning since last week. But becos we caught a late night movie last night, woke up late this morning and had to rush 2 kiddos to their schools....hubby only remembered about it at abt 930am! So we rushed back to Nan Chiau hoping to see the results and we were glad we did!
I went up to the hall immediately while hubby went to park his car. On the board were a total of 73 balloting slips and Favian's was the very 1st piece....I wasn't sure at first and checked the informattion on the slip over and over again...LOL
I must thank the parent who drew Favian's name with her lucky hands - and I hope her child got a place in NC pri too!
No words can truly describe how we felt at that moment. I urged all of you who wish for a good school for your children to be a parent volunteer to increase our chances of getting into a good school cos' I was kinda living in regret when I knew my child had to end up in balloting for a place in the school. I really count myself lucky and count my blessings too.
This will be the most meaningful gift I receive for this year!
