Cardigan for Favian
Mood: Smiley
This is the design of the cardigan which I am making for Favian.
I finally received my good-quality Addi Turbo Circular needles...really worth every penny....I started the cast-on last Saturday.
This is how it looked
I am working on the back of the cardi now and hope to finish this by tomorrow so that I can start on the front and collar very soon. I measured the back against Favian and it fits nicely.

Glacier is 4!
We were invited to Fenni's place for dinner and it was sort of a mini gathering and a small Birthday celebration for Glacier - Fenni's son.
It was a simple but nice dinner and was great to catch up once a while like that since Fenni and I stay pretty near to each other. Too bad Catherine and Karen could not join in with us. Favian had a whale of a time exploring Glacier's toys...it was nice to see the boys 'talking' and 'fighting' for toys with one another and sometimes they DO share their toys. :) Very sweet to see Glacier and Favian playing together cos they have 'known' each other for 4 years! Yes...Glacier is just about less than a month older than Favian. See how much the boys have grown...hope their friendship will last too.

Pooped on

Or pinched by tiny fingers

I slept all night.

I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mum
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mum.

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.

Could make me feel so important.

A pleasant surprise
Mood: Delighted
I woke up quite late as I had a long night chit chatting on MSN with a couple of frens. Today I felt so goggy, bad flu and swollen puffy eyes.....
Hubby came back from site and asked if I would like to go for lunch at Tonkichi at Takashimaya. Of course I want! Mouth-watering already just by the 'sound' of it. So I quickly changed and off we went to Taka.
Wah! So sad...Tonkichi was under renovation! What luck! But I must have my sushis and my Tonkatsu Rice Bowl....yummy...love it wet. So we went to Sushi Tei instead, 'no fish prawn also can'...
After lunch we walked around Taka and hubby asked if I would like to go to my favourite boutique to see-look. Haha this was surprise no.1. Usually he will not volunteer to go there unless I pester him...cos its LV boutique which you'll always spot a long queue outside the door. Seems like hubby was in a good mood so we went and patiently queued for about 10min.
As I was browsing thru the catalogue, surprise no. 2 came. Hubby asked me if I wanted to get anything, he will buy for me. I looked at him in surprise and shock! So I jokingly pointed to the wallet in the showcase - it was a Vernis wallet in the latest col, Amarante. It was a whopping $960 bucks! Whoa...but hubby said its nice and wanted to buy for me. But I was having 2nd tots because when I held it in my hands, my fingerprints were all over the wallet...and it looks horrible. Although I love the wallet very much, I decided to look around for other options. The I saw the neverfull bag that has been OOS for donkeys years...I asked hubby for his opinion if I should get that bag since its within his budget as well. $1000 (bag) vs $960 (wallet). Which is more worth it? Hubby said not this bag cos he didnt like the design. I looked around and saw this cute little hand bag, again Vernis range and in my favourite Amarante.
Hubby also agreed that its nice and asked me to get it. Hee...its sort of my dream bag cos saw a few times before this colour was launched. And the price is not so justifiable for a small bag like this. Now I don't have to 'dream' of it anymore, maybe can hug the bag to sleep.

Anybody interested in these?
Mood: Bushed!
After a weekend of spring cleaning, I have decided that I should 'part' with some of the toys at home since Mischa is on-the-way , we need more room for 2 kids to roam about...
I am selling this play tent away - actually quite sad to sell it off as Favian enjoys playing in the tent sleeping amongst the colourful balls. But hubby insisted to sell it away as it is taking too much space in Favian's room.
Anyone interested pls leave me a message. I am selling this play tent at S$59.00 incld the balls! Total value of the balls I bought already exceeded this amount. About 350 balls (cost approx. S$90). And a piece of Winnie the Pooh Inflatable Tumbler FREE! when you buy the whole set of tent with balls from me. (all pre-loved but in good condition)

Mushroom farm
Hubby wanted to get some fresh mushroom to cook for dinner and to see how the mushrooms are being grown...it was quite an experience and Favian enjoyed himself there. I would say the mushrooms were really fresh although abit expensive.

Spring cleaning week
Mood: Tired
Phew...! It's been a long time since I last posted on my blog. These 2 weeks I have been busy rearranging the furniture in the 2 bedrooms, shopping for kiddy furniture from Ikea for Favian and spring cleaning! You must be wondering why I am spring cleaning at this time of the year, well cos we were expecting our new maid the last few days and we had to make some room for her.
I feel rather sad that Favian does not have his own bedroom, but to share the study room with daddy. That's why I try to create a cosy corner for him with all the cartoony stuff. I was telling hubby to work harder so that we can get a bigger unit in a few year's time (hahaha..hopefully a landed la....*dreaming*)
I have put aside my knitting for the past few weeks and this is my latest update:
1) bonnet (a long time UFO) -decided to forget about it and come back later)
2) cardigan for Favian - casted on and knitted a few rows..but the lousy needle I bought from Spotlight cannot make it...the yarn kept getting stuck at the part where the flexi cord meets the needle..really got on my nerves...so decided to re-cast again when I receive my new needles (jus bidded 2 pairs of good quality Addi needles at a good good price!
3) Started a scarf for Favian's Godma ( I know you are reading this....be patient...almost done..)
I received my new stash of needles which I bidded on Ebay (thanks to Dor again for the great recommendation....although the cable needles cords are a bit hmm... cheapo, but ya the price i paid for them are indeed cheapo...so what more can I ask for? Good enough for a beginner like me.
My latest knitting stash: So many yarns but nothing concrete in mind really...pink & brown with cream ones most likely will be booties for Mischa. And I just bought the Turquoise Snowflake for fun. hahaha...

My favourite dish
Today my mum told me my 2nd auntie have some leftover red rice wine residue and asked me if I want to have them for my confinement. The first thought that came to my mind was "is it nice?"
红槽鸡 or crudely translated as Red Rice Wine Residue Chicken has always been my favourite soup. I first tasted the superbly cooked one at Orchard Shopping Centre and fell in love with it. But as I was unable to 'get' really good 红槽， I could only go to the stall whenever I feel like having the soup.
One day at Chinatown I finally found the Fuzhou 红槽. It was nice and after cooking it, the taste was comparable to the one at Orchard Shopping Centre. Kekekeke.....
So when mum brought the 红槽 that my auntie made, I could straight away tell from the colour that the 红槽 couldn't make it (good authentic 红槽 should be red in colour, whereas hers was pinkish!) So I didn't wan to waste the chicken stock, I opened my new tub of 红槽 and whipped up a pot of delicious soup for dinner.

After adding the chicken stock, let it simmer a while then add the Fuzhou rice wine and it's ready to serve. Yummy! I'm gonna make them for my confinement!

Piggy ride
Mood: Relaxed
It has been a long time since we stepped into the newly refurbished IMM. Thinking of the days hubby and myself used to work there, it was like hell! Hahaha...now things are better. And IMM also looked better than before.
Whenever I am at IMM, I will sure visit my favourite store -DAISO! This time I managed to grab quite a bit of Sanrio Hello Kitty stuff at $2! Wow! Sanrio's things are never so cheap....so 'chip chip' must buy!
After that we went for dinner also for my favourite Ban Mian and the dessert was glutinous rice balls with longan soup. Favian wanted to ride on the new animal rides and of all animals he chose to ride on this Pink Fat Piggy....so cute

Fish feeding
Favian enjoys feeding the Kois and other fishes at the Mainland fish farm at Pasir Ris. He will always ask daddy to bring him there when we pass by the farm on the way home from Popo's house. I guess he is starting to be more and more like daddy...same hobby.
