Day 5 - Hongkong Trip 2009
Shopping - Home sweet home
We did our last min shopping again at the Citywalk mall opposite our hotel. Bought some gifts for friends and display items for our new restaurant.
hubby got himself a watch and some T-shirts while I went Kitty-shopping again.
As we booked the late evening flight home, we had plenty of time after check-out and we headed to Fa Yuen Street again for some bargains. Indeed I found a shop selling authentic Hello Kitty stuffs. (luckily I made hubby go back with me again)
see my shopping loots HERE
When we reached the airport we saw that the flight was delayed..which means we have plenty of time again for a nice n slow dinner.
It was terrible cos the flight was delayed for almost an hour! Everyone crowded outside the gate and I was shocked that no priority was given for passengers with children. At that point, Mischa and Favian were already fussing. So i grabbed Mischa in my arms and made my way right through the crowd and demanded to be given the priority. Sure enough my family and I were allowed in front of the other passengers.
So it was 'bye-bye Hongkong - Hello! Singapore!' Not sure if i will be stepping into Hongkong ever again....who knows??
On board the flight home, Mischa was pretty well-behaved. She had a little of her post-weaning meal and shared some of my light snack. Then she entertained herself with all the cups and boxes. After that she fell asleep almost all the way till the plane was about to land. Favian was with my parents on other row of seats and slept halfway through the flight.

DAY 4 Part - Hong Kong Trip 2009
After a long n tiring day yesterday, today we decided to do no sightseeing except to shop till we drop. And of course not forgetting food food n more food!
At our hotel lobby for some phototaking fun

So off we went to the famous Ladies Market, Fa Yuen Street & hop over to Langham Place again for some photos and tea break. most importantly is for the toilet break. I could'nt believe it was so difficult to find a toilet in Hongkong streets!
We were busy shopping that we forgot to take photos! Only some pics taken at Langham Place.
The impressive escalator inside Langham place

Mischa & her 'kawaii' pose

Later on it was walking and shopping again .....

DAY 3 Part II - Hong Kong Trip 2009
After a tiring day in Disneyland, we headed to Victoria Peak to check out the view of Hongkong from the Peak. We took the peak tram instead of getting a cab up and also visited the Madame Tussauds Hongkong. Not a really 'must-go' location, but its no doubt an eye-opener for me. I wasn't really impressed with the set-up of the gallery though. But the wax figures were really impressively realistic.Too bad that not all the figures were present at all times. For instance, I didnt get to see Andy Lau and our MM Mr Lee. Kuan Yew cos they were ' on-leave'. If you really want to go, try not to bring a pram cos there are lots of steps inside the gallery
Waiting for the peak tram - the ride up the peak was kinda scary. To one point it went so steep that the buildings around us seemed to be toppling downhill....

At the Madame Tussauds...
A night view of Hongkong from the peak. It was really cold that night and we went back to the hotel for a good night's rest.

Day 2 - Hongkong Trip 2009
Places we visited
- Central : stopped over for lunch here and we wanted to take a look at the 'longest escalator' in Hongkong. we had a hard time searching but luckily i gave fellow mummy (Cecelia) a call and finally found the place. Its actually called the Central-Mid Levels Escalator
Me posing with Lil Mischa. it was quite cold when we exited the MTR station. Took some photos here and had lunch in one of the Cha Chan Teng

This is the long long escalator joining from buildings to buildings. At the end it led us to SOHO and we took a short stroll around the area.

Some shopping time before we head over to Langham Place for some food and window shopping (no photos)

DAY 1- Hong Kong Trip 2009
Day 1
We booked our flights with United Airlines ( bad choice- but cheap) and we had to check in at 4am at T3. It didn't turn out as I planned - i hoped the kiddos will be asleep thruout the entire checking in. but they woke up the moment we left the house. Hiaz...
As it was still early after we checked in, we had an early breakfast and let the kiddos roam around.

Mischa understands when we say 'smile' , she will make a funny face to the camera

Favian inside the transit shopping area - posing infront of the Singpost mini van

We boarded the plane at abt 650am and i must say that the service kinda s*cks , food's horrible - snacks only infact! But it did bring us to where we were heading for..haha so much for being a cheapo...but no choice cos 4 adults with 2 kiddos , u do the sums!
We finally landed in Hongkong at abt 10.30am, and the Q at the arrival hall was crazy! We were complaining all the way n comparing the check out system betwn Hongkong's n Singapore's - we win thumbs up!
Finally we arrived at our cosy hotel -L'Hotel Nina at abt 1230pm, jus in time for lunch. We unpacked briefly n zoomed out for lunch at the Tsuen Wan Plaza, 5min walk from our hotel.
We quickly took a picture of the room before it was being messed up by us! We shared a room with 2 Queen size bed. In Hongkong context, our hotel room is considered big!

Check out the curved shower enclosure

We stayed on the 46th storey n there was a transit at 41st floor for another lift up to our floor. These are some views taken from our hotel room

We settled our lunch at Poka cafe -nice food at economical prices. Ambience was good too. As usual, hubby's into taking pics of food nowadays (got to do with his new venture). This was my lunch - yummy!

After lunch we travelled down to Tsim Sha Tsui by the local MTR to the Cultural Centre n my intention was to visit the Teddy bear kingdom. But too bad it closed down a few years ago (the silly HK guide book wasn't updated!)
Nothing much to see there so we walked down further to the Avenue of Stars.

Favian finally posing for me

Strolling thru a park, we ended up at the night market just next to the Temple Street. Got some of these (pic below) as souvenirs and we headed to some backlanes for some pig's innards - hubby's favourite! I agree that some were really yummy.
I guess we were all tired and becos it was just our first day in HKG, we headed back to our hotel before 10pm and settled the kiddos to bed.
