As promised, I'll be posting more recipes so that when Joyce, my bestie move to NYC, she can check out my recipes when she run out of ideas what to cook for herself and her family.
P/S: don't worry Joyce, these are simple recipes that you can whip up easily. Fuss free and catered to your tastes! :)

So here's what I cooked a few days ago- Grilled rosemary chicken



Serves 2-3pax
Ingredients:
Chicken parts (or thighs preferred) equivalent to half a chicken
1each of Red and yellow capsicums
*you may add onions as desired too
Sprinkles of Rosemary leaves (grounded)
3 tablespoons Oyster sauce
1-2 pcs Lime/lemon

Preparation:
1- Marinate chicken parts with oyster sauce and Rosemary (30-60min)
2- cut capsicums into chunks (remove seeds)
3- preheat oven at 220-240degC
4- spread the chicken and capsicum onto a baking tray lined with foil
5- bake for 20-25min
6- squeeze lime/lemon juice over the chicken.
serve hot ( don't forget to pour the gravy over the chicken. Don't throw it away!!!)

It's a lovely Sunday and I'm in such a great mood to start my day.
I rarely feel so happy on a weekend but because I've finally gotten issues off my chest and I can't feel any better now.... Off to spend time with my my kiddos

Peplum dresses, defined as, a "short overskirt or ruffle attached at the waistline of a dress or skirt".




I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE translating adults' fashion and runway look into little girls'  dresses...I think this is what is missing in the kids' wear available locally.
Though I'm taking a break from customising orders for clients, I'm still finding joy in making dresses for my girl. Thank god for little girls :) *big GRIN*...

On Thursday Carpe Diem's shoe shop finally opened for business :) The teachers really put in a lot of efforts for this event and we had fun!
It was an experience for the K2s to learn how to manage a business. The children get to try on the shoes (sitting on settee made out of Milo tins) and lots of accessories too.

A Fren called and asked me what I use to address my domestic maid when I talk about her? Maid or helper?
Without hesitation, I said 'maid'. And what's wrong with that? In fact I'm quite turned off by people who uses the term helper (like as though it sounds more respectful) but treat them like dirt.
At least I treat my maid with fairness and I dun call her names. It's distasteful and frightening when people call their maid names like imbecile, stupid etc etc... Talking abt upbringing... Tsk tsk...

And The one FAQ I get from friends is "why do I need a maid when my son and girl are in school the entire day?" and My standard answer to them is that I need someone to do the housechores. And my top priority is for her to keep the house clean n neat as well as cook simple meals. Simple n clear cut. And then I'll get questions like "oh wouldn't your maid be damn free?"

With puzzled thoughts running through my mind... Does one expect that with one salary, she can get a super multi-tasker maid with almost motherly responsibilities rolled into one? Ermm yes... I think I know of someone who expects that from her maid.
She expects her maid to discipline her son, read to him, cook , feed him and calls her stupid or imbecile when she falls short of her expectations. I mean, isn't that too much she is asking? Might as well get the son to call the maid mum? That to me is really a sad n stressful work place for the poor maid.

I need new inspirations for recipes! Anyone?  I'm so running out of ideas what to cook daily cos now I do the cooking for most of the meals at home. I have tons of cookbook but some of the dishes are just too much of a hassle to whip up at home. So i need practical, tasty and healthy recipes.

The good news is that my maid finally can cook simple dishes like soups and basic Chinese dishes. So sometimes when i need to catch up with some girlfrens, I can ask her to take over my duties so that my children and hubby won't starve.

Joyce, my very close buddy is going away soon as her hubby got posted to New York and it'll be quite firm unless they have different plans in the last hour. After talking to her the other day when we had tea, I suddenly have this idea when she shared her worries with me. She is worried that she cannot be a good SAHM (she manages her Dad's business currently). And her main worries will be loneliness and cooking for her son and herself.
Thus i have this thought to compile a simple list if recipe especially those 'one-pot' meals for her before she goes off. I hope it'll come in handy when you run out of ideas. I will surely miss you babe....

My love for statement rings started when I was in NAFA. I used to collect tons of chunky rings, mostly of special stones or silver. Diamond rings are so passe and they lack character. I only wear my solitaire for dinner functions and thats about it.
Chunky statement rings add an oomph to and outfit. My ultimate style has always been fuss-free casual chic. I am myself in denims and tees..but it's too boring hence i always play with accessories. That's why I was over the moon when I discovered Wendy's lookbook (see my previous posts on her)

Love this video by Wendy's Lookbook. It demonstrates 25 fun and easy ways to use the scarves.
She did it with such personality and its so fun to watch. I'm gonna try out some styles that are suitable for our weather...Scarves can be a great statement piece and sometimes so useful when I am in an air-conditioned place. They are easy to bring along, and a great accessory to add a 'pop' in your outfit.
You can also watch her companion videos that explains in detail how each of the scarves are tied....have fun!

I stumbled upon this set of hair rollers via Wendy's FB. She is such a sweet girl to share her beauty secrets and this particular set of steam rollers are not available in Singapore ( as usual). And so, I've just gonna a set for myself! Love the fact that this rollers uses steam to 'set' the curls instead of the usual heated ceramic curlers that literally 'fry' your hair causing damage and dull looking curls.
Cant' wait for this to arrive and start playing with curls!

Finally something fresh and unpretentious! Im so happpy to have stumbled upon Wendy's blog. She is such a charming woman and her photographer friend takes such nice shots of her.

I love the way she describe her outfits of the day and she is so willing to share her tips and finds.
Wendy can look so stylish with simple stuffs put together. No need for Chanels or Birkins (though she carried her Chanel in style too!)

I'm so tired of looking at some pretentious pose of branded bags and expensive clothings put together and some of the blogger's styles are so predicatable.
Wendy's style is what I like...very apt for our weather here and love that she is mostly in pants/ jeans (hahaha much like what I love to wear) ...casual chic I call it!
