Hobby time

I was spoilt for choice when I stepped into Spotlight on Friday. But as I have just started on this new hobby, I did not dare to invest in yarns that are too expensive. I just grabbed some cheap yarns and those on special discount. Wait till I am more experience then I will buy better quality ones to knit more stuff for my kids and frens!

I intend to make this pair of booties (I got the patterns from a mummy fren from the SMH forum) and I also chose the same RED HOT tone...but I intend to embellish them with sparkling Swarovski crystals....yippie....Look out for the progress of these booties...

Sharing my Loot

Mood: Cheeky; happy

Last weekend finally collected my LOOT from a forum mummy fren. This time I really like my buys and they seem to be really good bargains...managed to get a set of 5pcs set for my dear son from Jshoppers and also a pair of jeans and 2 tops from Old Navy. Of course, not forgetting Baby Mischa, I got her some cute little dresses and romper. But these are not all, I am still waiting for my GAP orders and 2 other sprees from Old Navy....wahahaha......

From Jshoppers. I like the very Jap look.

My new found hobby

Mood: Excited

Knitting has been a hobby I wanted to pick up since my school days. However it seemed like an expensive hobby and I always thought that we can only knit scarves and sweaters. In our climate, it is kinda impractical to be knitting stuff like that and i dun travel to places that are cold very often. Thus I have put that idea off for almost over a decade.

Recently I chanced upon Dor's lifeblog (a mummy from SMH forum) and she also enjoy knitting. I was fascinated by her works and she knits for her baby girl and herself. Then she posted a picture of the little booties she made for her Little Constance. I loved it and wanted to make those for baby Mischa too! It was very kind of Dor to offer beginner's knitting lessons for me, but the excited me could not wait and went to Chinatown the next day to shop for knitting tools and yarns. There were teachers in the craft shop offering free coaching as long as we get the materials from them. So today was my second day and I have started on my 1st project, a Bonnet for my baby. These are the things I bought yesterday. (yesterday have been learning the basics of knitting - see the white yarn below)

And this is the project that I am working on. I have started on the bonnet and will move on to make the scarf , booties and maybe the cardigan. *I hope I am not too ambitious!

Today I started to cast on the bonnet and realised that I dun really like the texture of the yarns I bought. I think for the rest of this project, I will change to a pure cotton yarn instead. Let me go on with my knitting now and will post my progress again!

Blink A Bling

Mood: Over the Moon

These few days I was occupied with setting up of my new online store, Blink A Bling. Its has been a hectic whole week uploading pictures, updating new posts for my little webby.

Jewellery making has been such an enjoyable hobby since I picked it up a year and a half ago. I enjoyed making little gifts for friends, for myself and my mum. The sense of satisfaction is overwhelming and I just feel so good when others comment about the piece of earring, necklace or ring that I am wearing and made by ME!

Hubby and friends have been urging me to start an online store to sell my Blings because my collections are bursting out of my wardrobe (or maybe just the drawer). I thought it was a good idea since I can never get to wear everything that i have designed and made.

Friends who are reading this, do drop by my store and take a look. I am still adding on to my collection, hence Bookmark my page and check back for more!
