DAY 1- Hong Kong Trip 2009
Day 1
We booked our flights with United Airlines ( bad choice- but cheap) and we had to check in at 4am at T3. It didn't turn out as I planned - i hoped the kiddos will be asleep thruout the entire checking in. but they woke up the moment we left the house. Hiaz...
As it was still early after we checked in, we had an early breakfast and let the kiddos roam around.
Big bro n Lil sis monkeying around

Favian posing for the camera

Mischa understands when we say 'smile' , she will make a funny face to the camera

Favian inside the transit shopping area - posing infront of the Singpost mini van

We boarded the plane at abt 650am and i must say that the service kinda s*cks , food's horrible - snacks only infact! But it did bring us to where we were heading for..haha so much for being a cheapo...but no choice cos 4 adults with 2 kiddos , u do the sums!
We finally landed in Hongkong at abt 10.30am, and the Q at the arrival hall was crazy! We were complaining all the way n comparing the check out system betwn Hongkong's n Singapore's - we win thumbs up!
Finally we arrived at our cosy hotel -L'Hotel Nina at abt 1230pm, jus in time for lunch. We unpacked briefly n zoomed out for lunch at the Tsuen Wan Plaza, 5min walk from our hotel.
We quickly took a picture of the room before it was being messed up by us! We shared a room with 2 Queen size bed. In Hongkong context, our hotel room is considered big!

Check out the curved shower enclosure

We stayed on the 46th storey n there was a transit at 41st floor for another lift up to our floor. These are some views taken from our hotel room

We settled our lunch at Poka cafe -nice food at economical prices. Ambience was good too. As usual, hubby's into taking pics of food nowadays (got to do with his new venture). This was my lunch - yummy!

After lunch we travelled down to Tsim Sha Tsui by the local MTR to the Cultural Centre n my intention was to visit the Teddy bear kingdom. But too bad it closed down a few years ago (the silly HK guide book wasn't updated!)
Nothing much to see there so we walked down further to the Avenue of Stars.

Favian finally posing for me

Strolling thru a park, we ended up at the night market just next to the Temple Street. Got some of these (pic below) as souvenirs and we headed to some backlanes for some pig's innards - hubby's favourite! I agree that some were really yummy.
I guess we were all tired and becos it was just our first day in HKG, we headed back to our hotel before 10pm and settled the kiddos to bed.

Hong Kong Trip 2009 - Shopping!
9th Feb - 13th Feb
Hongkong
It was a tiring but fun trip and i havent had the time to load up all the pictures. Here's sharing some of my shopping all over Hongkong first. - I will upload those pics from my hubby's SLR in a seperate post
SHOPPING TIME!
One of my fav loots from the shopping mall opposite our hotel - Full set of Pierre Herme's Rement Miniatures. Love the tiny macarons!Too cute! This rement set is usually sold by random - u wont know what u will be getting. I hate to gamble! Hahaha so i paid a bit more to get a full set of this collection. So love it!

Close-up of the box of macarons

Close-up of the Ispahan - nvr tried a real one before though

Did i mention they even came with mini paperbags and giftboxes- So adorable!
Another of my fav - the white quilted faux leather Hello Kitty (Barbie Kitty range) French purse. It was all sold out in Singapore and I was so disappointed when i only managed to buy the hand carry tote few months ago. So when i saw it in the Sanrio shop in Tsuen Wan Galleria I knew I must buy it otherwise i will regret it! Oh and i paid a silly price for it.

Part of my Hongkong Disneyland loot (more in the next post)
Matching set of Minnie and Mickey watches for Mischa and Favian :)

Some of my best buys for Mischa - Adidas sneakers (not exactly best buy, but i love it so much)
The boots and 3 pieces of clothes from Cotton Candy cost me only S$50 - what a steal!

My Hello Kitty Loots - didnt really see alot of Hello Kitty stuff around, but I am satisfied with my finds.

More on shopping, eat and sightseeing next.....

Mischa is 15 months old
Mischa at 15 months:
She now loves to imitate my every actions for e.g.
- putting on makeup
- wearing high heels
- the way i hang my bag on my arm, etc
Mischa also wants to drink from a cup like all of us. She also picked up more new words for e.g:
- shower
- flower
- orh orh (sleep - she says that to my mum)
- 'seep' (as in sleep - she says that to me)
- eat (this she says really well)
- sit (and this too)
- fat fat (when she points to her tummy or anyone else's :P)
she understands when we command her to fetch things for us and its so much fun to see her in action! Mischa's first n 2nd set of Cuspid teeth has also started to make their appearance. She can chew really well now n i no longer cook her porridge with the slow cooker but directly over the stove for 30-40 min only.
This is my cheeky baby at 15mths

Chinese New Year
Been too busy to update my blogs regularly. Here's a quick update of our Chinese New Year celebration: - mostly pics of my kiddos
REUNION Dinner - Chinatown
It was a rather exasperting dinner on that night. We booked a table at Spring Court and it has been more than 10years since we had our Reunion dinner with them when they were at their old premise.
When it was time for the 2nd round of dinner guests to enter the restaurant, everyone squeezed and pushed as though fighting for a meal. - thanks to the bad management. We swore not to patronise Spring Court during Chinese New Year ever again!
Lil Mischa getting ready and posing for the camera before we left home for dinner:

this time i tried a new style on her and tied a little ponytaill..although her hair's still a bit short, but i tot she looked cool! and I dressed her in Hello Kitty theme!

Our dinner stated only at 8pm, so we grabbed a quick bite at the nearby Delifrance, and that's Mischa posing again

1st DAY of CNY - visit to Great grandma & Grandparent's place
traditionally, my hubby's grandma will stay over at our place and relatives will gather in our house for the 1st day of CNY. But due to grandma's legs condtition, she preferred to stay at her daughter's house for new year. So this year we gathered at my hubby's Ah Gor's house instead.
Mischa in the morning before we set off to visit Ah Ma (their great grandma).
Lil M loves to eat love letters (egg rolls) , see her munching away and glueing her eyes to the TV programme. She can now self-feed her self quite well and she knows how to catch the crumbs with the bowl in her left hand.

Mischa in her white Cheongsam - love the unusual white colour for kids instead of the usual reds/pinks I see everywhere around.

Not very 'glam' Mischa - digging her nose

Cheeky Favian

This pic taken at my parent's place- kiddos with maternal grandparents

Kiddos with Godpa aka Da Jiu

2nd DAY of CNY
Today we went to another Auntie's house for the usual lunch gathering and after that we headed to Marina Square to meet up with my parents. We intended to visit River Hongbao, but alas, it was closed and we heard that they only open at 6pm! So off we went to Esplanade for some phototaking and then headed back to Marina Square for steamboat/BBQ dinner.
Before we leave home: Lil Mischa aka ' the destroyer' (name given by Favian) trying to ransack the bookshelves

Notty Mischa's masterpiece - disturbing her bro by placing books on his face/body while he was still asleep

Pics taken with my dummy camera at the Esplanade. [will update nice pics again]
Love her in this FOX Baby number..hehehe love the -'not very kiddy' look. I paired this dress with the Zhao Cha Mao clippy I made.

3rd DAY of CNY- lazing around at home and visit to a friend's place
We planned to visit Karin's (my ex-manager) apartment to see her newly renovated unit. Before that we were lazing around at home.
Taking some funny pics of Mischa sitting in her toy pram.hahaha..jus for fun!

she enjoyed it and I propped her up with some stuffed toys - looked pretty comfy hehehe

Mischa and her 'big foot'

Getting bored, she grabbed her Hello kitty sling bag and put on one side of her shoe and stood by the gate screaming for us to bring her out.

I didnt bring camera out to Karin's place, so no pics to show her lovely house.
4th DAY OF CNY - lou hei time!
This was my 1st LOU HEI of the year - with my family at the 'Peramakan Restaurant'.
Lil Mischa at home posing for me again

Outside the restaurant - my darling son finally smiling for the camera

My family

Daddy and kiddos

Love this kind of siblings pose - so sweet

* If you noticed, there are more photos of Mischa than Favian, not becos I am bias, but my dear son does not like to pose for my camera..so its very difficult to catch a good shot of him.
Will post more of the rest of the CNY pics soon!
