Piggy Baby

I was due for my monthly checkup at the Gynae's today. I was a bit worried about Mischa's weight cos a few people have commented my tummy looks small for a 7mths old pregger. So I reminded myself to ask gynae if bb Mischa is of normal weight. I have put on 6.2kg till date and the ultra sound scan showed that my baby weighs a whopping 1.77 kg at 28weeks! The EDD reflected on the screen showed me at 31 weeks! Wow tats a lot of diff and bb is of above average in weight. Gosh, am i really carrying a PIGGY Baby ????

I was told to cut down on my sugar intake as I have excessive amniotic fluid. So I have to bid my durians goodbye for the time being until I give birth! My EDD has been scheduled forward and will most prob deliver 2-3 weeks earlier.

On one hand, I am looking forward for Mischa's early arrival. On the other hand i am worried as I recall the proceedure for Ceasar. I hope everything will go through smoothly and Mischa will be a cute, bouncy and healthy baby!

Red Hot Booties

Mood: Proud

Finally finished my Red Hot Mary Janes Booties! Love the little red buttons on the ankle strap. I had a hard time figuring out the instructions for the straps and re-do a few times before I finally completed these! The booties are so cute cos they are so tiny...but maybe Mischa can only wear when she is about 2mths old. I will be moving on to knit more of this booties in bigger sizes for Mischa.

I will also be starting on a cardigan for Favian - as I have been knitting for Mischa and seemed to have neglected Favian until he asked me about it one day when I was knitting the booties:

Favian: "Mummy, what are you doing?"

Me: " Knitting the booties for mei mei." (showing him the pics of the booties)

Favian: " Oh...this is for mei mei, huh? What about me? Why you didn't make the 'shoes' for me?"

Me: " These 'shoes' are too small for you and you don't need them cos you are a big boy already."

Favian: "But u must make something for me, ok Mummy?"

DUH! Just then I realised that he hoped I can make something for him too. I have chosen a simple cardi with collar for him. Will update in the next post if I do get started with it.

November Mummies Gathering

Ever since I knew I was pregnant again, and calculated that I will be due in Nov, I have been chatting with mummies in the SMH forum. The threads that I most frequent are the November 2007 and March 2007. Why March threads? Well cos the mummies there are nice and I love to join in their buying sprees.

By right, November thread should be more relevant to me, but I think the Novemeber mummies are mostly busy and the thread moves kinda slowly........

Recently I brought up a suggestion in the November thread for a gathering before we pop. Since most of us have been conversing alot via the forum, exchanging tips and updating our pregnancy progress, I thought it will be nice for us to meet up so that we can put the names to our faces!

The turnout was good, total of 10 mummies and we had a sumptuous dinner at the Swissotel Merchant Court. We talked about anything under the sun, updated our babies progress and of course not forgetting some phototaking sessions to keep a memory of this special day.

Some photos we took during/ after the dinner (photo courtesy of Poissons and Cactusnah)

Failed Attempt!

Mood: Angry

Before dinner I was happily taking shots of the new cast-on for the Red Hot Mary Janes Booties. i started on the left bootie and so far it looks decent

I was all excited and targeting to finish the left bootie by last night. So after dinner I went on to knit the rest of the stitches...following every steps carfeully...As i was doing the Instep shaping, the steps got a lil confusing. I guess that was where I missed a stitch or added a stitch or 2 and the bootie became out of shape.

So sad and angry at myself!...but luckily it was a fast project and I spent about 3 hours to get there...so its ok, I shall give it another try today and make sure I trace out where I went wrong.

My First Booties

Mood: Pleased

Ta-da! Finally finished my 1st pair of booties for Baby Mischa. This is my first attempt in knitting and before I can finish the Bonnet, I started on these cute little booties for her. Well I know the workmanship is kinda lousy, but hey, its my first masterpiece! Maybe the next project I will improve on my stitches...give me some time.
